Massive Dynamic for data centers
Massive Dynamic models a data center from utility feed to the data hall and keeps every test, gate and schedule in the order the equipment is actually connected.
What it models
MV and LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, ATS units, PDUs, AC and DC panelboards, and battery systems.
Chillers, pumps, VFDs and CRAH units, on their own layer so cross-discipline dependencies are visible.
Control power, protection relays, interlocks, redundancy and failover tests, modelled on the control layer.
PDUs, racks and IT load, with dependencies traced back through every upstream source.
The equipment library also covers substation packages (HV transformers, breakers, grounding) when they are part of the site scope.
Levels
Each level has its own checklists and documentation requirements per equipment type. Levels follow your project's own scheme; this is a typical structure.
Factory testing and site delivery inspection of each item.
Installation verification, grounding and pre-energisation checks.
Start-up and functional tests of each item and its controls.
Functional and redundancy tests across systems, up to integrated systems testing.
On Massive Dynamic
Test predecessors come from the real electrical and control connections, including redundant (OR) feeds and backup sources.
Before a step is marked live, upstream sign-off is checked along the actual path, not the tracker row.
Where control power needs downstream equipment live to test interlocks, the loop is found in planning and a temporary generator can be placed to break it.
In the Dirac panel, “Build 20 MW 2N data center” or “Build N+1 data center” generates a complete dual-feed or N+1 starting layout that you then adapt to the real design.
