Dirac ConsultingMassive Dynamic commissioning platform

Massive Dynamic · Pitfalls we remove

Where commissioning goes wrong, and how it stops.

Most commissioning delays come from a small set of familiar failures. They happen because the plant, the schedule and the records live in separate files. Massive Dynamic and its assistant, Dirac, keep them in one model, so each failure is caught before it reaches site.

Safety & sequence

Pitfall 1

Tests run in the wrong order

The sequence is typed into a Gantt chart that knows nothing about the single-line diagram.

How it is bypassedThe schedule is derived from the real connections. If a board is fed by a transformer, its test cannot be planned first.

Pitfall 2

Energising ahead of sign-off

A tracker tick does not know what feeds what, so an unproven upstream item goes unnoticed.

How it is bypassedEnergisation is checked along the actual power path, and gates flag any asset whose only source is not yet in place. If a stage has to be forced, the bypass is raised as an issue automatically.

Pitfall 3

Deadlocks found on the day

Control power often needs downstream equipment live before interlocks can be tested.

How it is bypassedCircular dependencies are found in planning. Dirac shows the smallest loop and proposes a temporary source to break it, then wires it after you confirm.

Record integrity

Pitfall 4

Trackers that disagree with the site

Status is re-keyed from paper, photos, e-mails and meetings, days after the work.

How it is bypassedThe field app records checks, photos and issues at the source, offline if needed, and merges without overwriting other people's work.

Pitfall 5

Shared checklists that drift

One bay-level test is copied onto eight assets, and the copies stop matching.

How it is bypassedA shared checklist is one record with one result across every asset it covers.

Pitfall 6

Validation documents retyped

DQ, IQ, OQ and PQ documents are written separately from the test records they summarise.

How it is bypassedDocuments are generated from the live tracker state with an e-signature, backed by an insert-only audit trail.

Reporting & handover

Pitfall 7

Status reports that are already old

Management sees a monthly summary negotiated in meetings.

How it is bypassedGates, exposure and health are computed continuously from what the field has recorded.

Pitfall 8

Handover assembled at the last minute

The package is compiled from many sources when the deadline arrives.

How it is bypassedReadiness is tracked all the way through, and the handover package exports in one click.

Pitfall 9

Answers buried in files

The one person who knows is on another site.

How it is bypassedDirac answers from the live model and cites the product manuals for how-to questions.

What to expect

Modest claims, checked on your project.

The effect we see is less time chasing status, fewer repeated tests and an earlier, cleaner handover. The commissioning engineers stay; what goes is the clerical layer around them.

We do not quote savings in advance. A pilot on one system of a live project gives you your own numbers.
